Mitigates Corrosion
- Zincoat sacrifices itself over the years to protect the structure.
- With corrosion of the structure essentially eliminated, there is little to no structural metal loss.
- The Zincoat anodic film covering the structure is indefinitely rejuvenable by the application of a single coat after a water-blast or similar, so the asset can be protected for as long as required.
No Blistering or Peeling
- Properly applied to a correctly prepared surface Zincoat has an electro-chemical relationship with the substrate and will never blister or peel, it simply reduces in thickness as the Zinc is consumed.
- Any physical damage to the Zincoat is thus constrained and corrosion, if present at all, will be limited primarily to the area of damage.
- Repair of damaged areas is easy, simple and quick - with preparation as required a single coat of Zincoat becomes homogenous with the existing film.
Environmentally Friendly
- Initial project material impact is limited mainly to potable water and, if required, some innocuous blast media, which is collected and removed from site.
- As the coating ages over the years the residue that washes off it is primarily Zinc and is harmless.
- Rejuvenation involves cleaning the old, intact Zincoat, usually with water by either high-pressure blast or as a component of air-assisted wet abrasive blasting, the impact of which is even less than the initial project.
